Calling In the New Year: Why We Gather in January
January is not meant to be rushed.
While the world often pushes fresh starts, big goals, and immediate momentum, nature tells a quieter story. January is a threshold month—a time of integration, reflection, and intentional initiation. It’s when we begin to feel into what we want to carry forward, rather than forcing it into shape.
This is why we gather.
Our January Sacred Circle is designed to support the body, the nervous system, and the heart as we release what no longer fits and intentionally call in what we’re ready to receive. Each element of this gathering—ceremonial cacao, Reiki, fire release, and intention stones—serves a purpose rooted in ancient practice and modern understanding.

Ceremonial Cacao: Opening the Heart in the Heart of Winter
Ceremonial cacao is pure, minimally processed cacao prepared intentionally and consumed mindfully. Unlike commercial chocolate, cacao in its ceremonial form is rich in compounds that gently support circulation, mood, and heart-brain connection.
Energetically, cacao has long been used as a heart-opening plant medicine. It doesn’t override or numb—it softens. In the quiet of winter, cacao helps us come back into the body, reconnect with our emotional landscape, and listen inward.
In January, when many people feel disconnected, fatigued, or emotionally raw, cacao offers warmth, grounding, and gentle clarity. It invites presence rather than productivity—an ideal companion for intention-setting that comes from the heart, not the mind alone.
Reiki in a Group Setting: Shared Energy, Shared Support
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that works with the body’s natural ability to restore balance. Rather than “doing” something to you, Reiki supports the body in remembering how to regulate, release, and realign.
In a group setting, Reiki becomes especially powerful.
When people gather with shared intention, the nervous system responds to safety and connection. Group Reiki helps calm stress responses, soften mental noise, and create a sense of being held—without needing to talk or explain.
During our gathering, participants rest while Reiki and chakra-focused intention support grounding, clarity, and integration. This is where intentions move from thought into felt experience—where the body begins to believe what the mind is calling in.
Why We Gather This Way
This is not about manifesting harder.
It’s about listening deeper.
January asks us to slow down, soften, and choose intentionally. By combining ritual, rest, and community, we create space for clarity that feels sustainable—not forced.
You don’t need prior experience. You don’t need to know exactly what you want.
You just need to be willing to arrive.
We would love to hold this space with you.
What to Bring
To help you settle in fully and receive the experience, we invite you to bring a few simple comforts from home:
Your favorite mug– for sipping ceremonial cacao in a way that feels familiar and grounding
A yoga mat or soft surface– something to lie down on during Reiki and rest
A pillow and/or blanket– to stay cozy and supported as your body relaxes
A journal and pen– for reflection, intention-setting, or anything that wants to be written
A curious heart– you don’t need to know exactly what you’re releasing or calling in; openness is enough
Come as you are. This gathering is about comfort, presence, and allowing yourself to be held—nothing more is required.

From our Wild Hearts to yours,
Monica & Macala
